Regarding Suspicious Messages Related to Reservations Made Through Booking.com
Thank you very much for your continued patronage of Hotel JAL City Haneda Tokyo.
We have recently confirmed incidents in which some guests who made reservations at our hotel through the online booking platform “Booking.com” have received messages via messaging applications such as “WhatsApp.”
These messages attempt to create a sense of urgency by claiming that “part of the reservation information is missing” or that “the reservation will be automatically canceled unless the information is updated within 24 hours,” and then direct recipients to malicious phishing websites.
Please note that our hotel will never contact guests directly regarding their reservations through messaging applications.
Furthermore, we also do not communicate reservation changes or cancellations through messaging applications.
If you receive any such suspicious messages, please do not access any links or URLs included within them under any circumstances.
At this time, there has been no confirmation of any data breach or information leakage from our hotel’s systems.
We have requested Booking.com an urgent investigation into this matter and are currently awaiting further information.
We sincerely apologize for any concern this may cause, and kindly ask you to remain vigilant and exercise caution when receiving suspicious messages.
